Information
Entomological Consulting Services, Ltd. was founded in California in 1977
by Richard A. Arnold, Ph.D., a professional entomologist, to assist government
agencies and private industry in environmental, forestry, and technical
matters that deal with insects and other types of invertebrates, such
as crustaceans, arachnids, and snails. Since then, we have consulted on
a wide variety of projects, both as a prime contractor and as a subcontractor,
and have completed over 1,200 projects to date.
A special area of expertise for Entomological Consulting Services, Ltd.
is rare and endangered insects and invertebrates. During the past 27 years,
we have worked with all of the West Coast insects and other invertebrates
recognized by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) as endangered
or threatened species. Dr. Arnold is the author of USFWS recovery plans
for eight of the endangered or threatened California insects. In addition,
we have completed contracted studies on many of the rare and candidate
insects, crustaceans, arachnids, snails, and other invertebrates in California
and other portions of the United States.
